Phew! I'm so happy I ran earlier today and that tomorrow is my rest day! Today was my longest run since my return, 7.53k! I was so happy! Marlene, I was almost at your office! :) It's now snowing out; I've already shoveled the driveway once with my son, and it already looks like it was never done. Supposed to snow through the night. So that counts as cross-training right?
We got back inside, he made himself a hot chocolate, and sat down next to me as I was reading comments from my last post. He happened to catch the picture of him on the left side panel.
"Mom, why is there a picture of me there?" I scrolled back down to show him the heading My Inspiration. He got a little glossy-eyed. Then, with his little voice quivering, he said "mom, if I die before you, I want you to run a marathon in my memory, for me." He's 10... far beyond his years. This started the tears for both of us, he hugged me, i cried more; it was such a special moment. Then, he looked at me, and started laugh-crying... and said "So let me understand this, whoever reads your blog can see my boobies?" LMAO... it was pretty funny.
He is such a good kid; I am so proud of him and lucky to be his mother.

Kids come up with the most surprising things. Glad you were able to have that great moment.
What an awesome Mommy-son moment. :-)
That gave me a little tear! Love the little people. :)
Kids are so funny. One minute spouting insights and making you tear up, the next coming up with typical kid humor. Sounds like a great kid you have!
Sounds like you have a very special son but probably also a handful at times. Very cute.
Reminds me of my partner's son when he was five. Alberto took him to Rio de Janeiro to see the grand parents and the little one asked while on the beach "Dad, why did you leave Brasil to live in Australia? The women are so much prettier here." :-)
Great run and even greater mommy moment.
Aww, that gave me goosebumps. What a great kid!
Imagine him saying something like that, you wonder what was going on in his head.....he sounds like a wonderful young man! and yes, I had a tear in my eye too!
Aw what a cute moment:) Great run
Awww, what a sweet moment with your son. He sounds like quite a guy.
CONGRATULATIONS on your longest distance post-injury. So cool that you were close to my work. I would have preferred to have been out there running than sitting at my desk, I can tell ya that!
Awwwwhhhh what a fantastic kiddo you have there ;-) Too sweet!
ohhh that is so cute :)
Aww that was the sweetest thing. Kids sometimes reach deep and say some things that stop your heart for a second.
Enjoy the rest day tomorrow.
Awww. Sounds like you have a great kid, and he has a great mom. Hope you're not too sore from the snow shoveling-- that definitely counts as cross training!
That's so sweet - and he helped you shovel! You have a great kid.
You have a very special son!
