I recently got a comment on one of my posts introducing me to Wellsphere, a top 10 health website, with various communities. I was awarded a Top Health Blogger status, which is really exciting for me! You read it right! Moi! I feel so honored!
I know I've mentioned it already, but I thought my blog would be something like a journal for me; never did I think that I might be able to inspire anyone, let alone get an award! :)
As a child, it always seemed like there was something. I wasn't a sickly child, usual kid stuff, but one thing after another. My mom would always say "I'll add it to the black book." To this day, at the age of 31, whenever I tell her about running injuries, or stitches from falling off my bike, or anything else health related, I still get the same line. I've been meaning to ask how many pages this book has, and when I can get my hands on it to look back! LOL
If there really was a "black book" I'm sure it would be full, exploding at the seams, pages falling out everywhere, but I suppose all of these experiences I wouldn't have much to write about! So thanks for making me feel like I can make a difference.
Marci, you once commented on one of my posts and asked me if I ever considered doing speeches (or something like that, I can't remember your exact wording!!) I wish I had the personality to feel comfortable with public speaking... but maybe this will be my way of being able to help!? Oh! And good luck to you running Philly this weekend! Can't wait to hear about your race!! :) And to Mr. Q on your ultra!!!
Ok, finally a change of pace! Literally! Had my usual breakfast, a bagel with a bit of light cream cheese, and a coffee. I swear, I did nothing different. It was cold out... a biting wind.
I chose a new route to add a few hills. Yes, I said it, I purposely picked a route to include hills! I have finally accepted that they are good for me, make my ex-smoker lungs work hard, makes me stronger, so I no longer dread them!! How cool is that! Pace? Well, since my injury I've been averaging around 6:22+/km, even with the hills today, 6:11/km! I was so pleased.
I've been following a 7 week plan to return to running plan.... Guess what. I will be starting week 7 on monday! Time flies when you're having fun! Oh! I am also hoping to join my running group for their Sunday morning -- haven't run with them since August :) Have a great weekend all, stay warm!

Thats great! I find the blog an excellent way to journal thoughts but also get inspiration from other runners too. Well done!

I've just stumbled upon your blog, and I'm surprised I haven't been here sooner!
I need to read back a bit, but I think we have some things going on that are similar. I've been going through the bone thing, testing, fracture, etc...
Congrats on the Top Health Blogger status!
