I got my swag!

Back in the spring, the girls and I of our running group registered in the lottery for Nike's Women's 1/2 Marathon in San Francisco for October. None of us were chosen, which was disappointing at the time, but for selfish reasons, I'm sorta glad we didn't.

Once the virtual registration opened, I signed up for it, planning to run the needed mileage on the same day of the event.

Stress fractures put a damper on accomplishing this, but I became a little creative, which I posted about here.

So as promised, here is a pic of the finishers' shirt and the Tiffany keychain.  Since it was technically only available to US participants, I used a co-workers mailing address, and he kindly shipped it out to me.  I was very excited to get it today.

Yesterday I ran 6.1k... leaving me with 2k tomorrow to accomplish my 1000k goal for 2008!
:)  Not sure if I'll do much more than the 2k needed, my legs are killing me from a new workout I tried yesterday with a lot of lunges... owww.

Nice stuff!

Rest those legs post-2k. Lunges can be tough. Good tough, but still tough.

Nice swag!!

Have fun kicking butt for your goal of 1000 tomorrow. Like you, I'll probably stick to the minimum mileage required. :p

What a great idea to run the same day! Can't believe you're going to hit the 1000K milestone. You should be psyched!

Ooohhh I like the shirt. I ran the race too and our finishers shirts were brown. I like the white better.

Happy New Year.

You'll make it to that 1000k, Sistre, I know it! You have that "can-do" spirit! Or should I say "Canada-Do" spirit?

Canada-Do is kinda like the Frozen North's version of Mountain Dew, except yours is available in two languages: The Canadian language - "Canada-Do"; and the French language - "Canada-Fait".

Both, I have been assured, taste as bad as our Mountain Dew.

But hey, man! It is TOTALLY NOT COOL using your Canada-do spirit to fake an address and steal our races shirts and tchotchkes! How would you like it if I set up a Canadian PO and stole some of your ... your ...

Help me out, here, Sistre. Whaddaya you people have that's worth stealing?

O, yeah!

... and stole some of your kilometres?!

How would you like that?

Not feeling so clever NOW, are you?

Sorry I had to reprimand you. But admit it. You deserved it.

You'll probably already be at 1000k by the time you read this, so, in anticipation of that:

CONGRATS, Sistre!

I have decided to let you keep your ill-gotten swag.

That makes two things I've given you: This stuff and - of slightly less value - the state of Alaska.

What have you given me?

Cute shirt. Congrats on only having 2K left to go! You made it!

They seriously gyped people this year. I got a cool necklace last year. But I still love the shirts!

Sweet swag! And lunges get me every time! Have you tried scissors lunges? (Wait, maybe they're not called that...) Anyway, do a lunge, then down at the low point jump straight up into the air. While in the air, switch your legs and land with the opposite leg in the front. Dip low into a lunge, and then jump right back up again. They SUCK! But are soooo good.

Happy New Year!

I've seen that race swag around, and it's my absolute favorite. I may run the race just for that.
