Update on the icky heart rate monitor, I called Garmin customer service yesterday, and they were very kind, and will be shipping out a new strap. I've had to deal with Garmin's support twice, and both times they have been incredible, now if only my cell phone provider provided such customer service, but I won't go there. So I'll be impatiently waiting for the mailman for this delivery so I can resume with the regularly scheduled programming of heart rate training. In the meantime, I will continue with using paces from previous weeks, and perceived effort.
Since I'm doing the LT test on monday morning, I'm having to switch a few of my runs around. Wednesday was an unplanned non-running day due to another dump of snow, ran yesterday, will run today, (fridays are usually a rest day), and will do my long run tomorrow instead of Sunday. It was recommended to be rested and fresh for the test monday morning, and not to do a hard workout the day before.
Remember I mentioned the snowfall on wednesday? In the spirit of Nikemom's Foto Friday, here's a few pictures of some fun we had after shoveling... again. I noticed a hill within a short distance of the house where I see kids with snowboards and sleds all the time, so we trudged through our snow there. This is also part of the trail path that I was running in the fall. Fun and fast going down, a b!tch to climb afterwards :)
Cold after getting snow-washed the whole way down! LOL
Hearing his laughter and screaming all the way down the hill was too funny.
Happy Superbowl weekend everyone. :)

Yay for the Garmie strap and book. That is good news.
Great pic. Glad to hear you had fun with all that snow.
Lovely pictures!
It's good to hear someone is giving good customer service. It's good to know the folks at Garmin came through. I dropped a cell phone carrier because of bad customer service.
I love winning things, too. :) Yep, it sure beats getting bills in the mail!
I love the You: On a Diet book - those guys are great. Have you seen the show?
The sledding looks fun. At least we can try to enjoy winter!
Yeah Garmin...love the pics. Stay warm.
Hope the new starp does the trick. You gotta love it when you actually get nice customer service.
Look at those rosy cheeks, too much fun!!
Is that at Wilket Creek Park?
Have a great weekend!
Just as an FYI, when I did my VO2 max test I was told it would be best if I took a full rest day the day before and up to the test.
Glad to hear you are getting a new strap! Yay Garmin!
He looks exhausted...AND frozen!
Glad the garmin people are helping you out.
Cute pic of the little man.
Wow!! Love the snow..send some to NC we cant get any to save our lives!! Would be nice for the kids to get to play in it at least once this year! Have a great Weekend!!
Speaking on Diets..Have you ever seen the BBC show "You are what you eat" That will scare ya a little!!
Great photo! And I'm glad you won something. Let us know how it works! Happy weekend.
That quit smoking counter Rocks!! I may have to borrow it!!
Glad Garmin was so nice. That would be so frustrating if they were hard to deal with. The sledding looks like a lot of fun.
Glad to hear Garmin is nice to work with for any issues...I really want to get one of those Garmin watches to run with that keeps track of everything so I can stop wasting gas and driving all over the place to check how far I've run! I fear the technicality of it though...I'm pretty electronically challenged!
Fun times sledding, I went last year at some friends who made an awesome ramp off their garage! You started 30 feet in the air and went about 100 yards till you hit a culvert! Good times! More of a workout than any run!!!
I've read that book and thought it was very informative.. I'm not sure I remember much but I did like it.
Way to go Garmin!

Looks like T was having some fun out there!
Enjoy the book.
Thanks for offerinf to drop off 50/50. I don't want you to drive all the way up here, but if you happen to see Patricia at the RR, maybe you could leave it with her? No rush. :)

Glad you are getting a new strap for the Garman, have a great weekend Mel!
Little man is adorable!!
Those rosy red cheeks!!! HEHE!!!
What kind of test are you having??? Good luck with it!!!
Run a mile or two for me!!!
I see you're a top blogger on Wellsphere. Have you seen the controversy about them? Wondering how you feel.
That's cool about the Garmin. Now you should see some good HR numbers (I hope).
Good luck on your test. Great pics too. Sledding is one heck of a cross training workout!
I have dealt with Garmin in the past and they have been great t work with. I am glad you had such good luck. Pass on that book when you are done with it. I need to lose some of my jiggle too.
Does the sexy six pack challenge involve lots of beer? If so, I'm in! Molson Canadian is one of my favorites...does that count for anything?
Brrr! But looks like fun.
Glad Garmin is working with you!
I am so happy that they are replacing the strap. Garmin has some great customer service.
I may have to check out that book. I am a sucker for diet books.
