Wait! Slow down!

Seems like a few bloggers have been getting their butts kicked at work with being busy, long hours, etc.  Me included; but it's all good. I'm thankful for a job in this economy, happy to be able to work at home, for an excellent boss, being part of an amazing team of people, doing something I enjoy.  But this week, I've been doing something completely new, involving a lot of learning, and long days.

So with that said, I just happened to look at my calendar and realized it's Wednesday!  Sunday is a mere 4 days away!  I went on my last longish run; before the race... 6k this morning... not as early as Marlene though. :)  Funny that 6k is now considered a 'short run'

Tomorrow and friday are non-running days, a short run on saturday to loosen up the legs before hitting the hotel! Bring it on! :)

Still no official results from Nike's San Fran race, it said on or around the 25th we'd get an email confirmation... impatiently awaiting.

Doesn't sound like you have the taper crazies. Keeping my fingers crossed for you still for Nike women's!

Glad to hear things are good, albeit busy, with your job. Same over here!

I still can't believe how early I got up. I wonder if I'll ever be able to do it again!? LOL!

Hope to see you Sunday! Let me know what you're wearing and your bib so I can watch for you at the finish!

PS - Fingers crossed for San Fran! They love to leave you holding your breath, don't they?!

I've seen you posting around the blogosphere and thought I would drop by. Good luck with the 30k. It sounds like fun.

race day will be here so soon!!! sometimes its nice to be busy at work during race weeks to keep your mind distracted :)

its funny when runs become short. i still remember the first time i ran 5 miles and it felt so long... now thats one of the shortest runs on my schedule.

WOOHOO I am so excited for your race!!

Run well and have a blast Mel!!

It's all about perspective, isn't it? I love it when runs suddenly seem short or easy . . .a sign of improvement!

Enjoy your non-running days!

It's amazing how perceptions change. 100 km on the bike used to be impossible for me and I was in awe of anybody who was able to do that. Good luck for your race on Sunday.

I will be thinking of you on the race day. I know you will ROCK! Just remember, go out and have a GREAT time. High fives to the children along the side. I cannot wait to read all about it.

I am very confident that you will get into San Francisco. *crossing fingers and toes*

I find myself getting "antsy" waiting on Sunday. I think I'm going to skip Saturday's warmup and do easy miles on Friday.
Have you got any idea what your weather is going to be like for your race?

Enjoy your taper and pre-race excitement. You are going to do great!

You're getting close. Soon it will be 30K of celebration for your great training!

Almost there! Can't wait to hear your race report!

I'm pretty sure you got into Nike if your credit card was charged. That's how they did it last year. I keep checking my account on line and there's still nothing.

race day will be here before you know it.

i too am gainfully employed and work from home for a great boss. this week is so crazy, i typically bill out only about 30 - 33 hours a week. at the end of wednesday, i had already billed out 23 hours. so i've almost worked an entire day ahead of schedule. and still, yesterday was the "why hasn't john finished this...." day. ugh. i hope your week is going better than mine.

The race is almost here. Hope you hear about San Fran soon.

Sorry I haven't commented much on your blog lately, somehow you got knocked off my google reader?!?

Enjoy the race - I am looking forward to it, especially with temps above freezing.

Yeah, the days sometimes get pretty long, but at least you've got something to look forward to.

It's just three days away as I write! You seem very well prepared for this race, and that's awesome. Me, on the other hand? Well, that's another story... Good luck!

It's thursday now and you are closer to the weekend and your race! I'll be looking for your race report! I'm running an 18k trail race on sunday as well-you'll be running a lot farther than me!!!!

I agree. I bitch and moan about my work hours but considering how crappy the economy is right now and how high the unemployment rate is, I'm very happy to be working!!!

lindsay said...

sometimes i just want to be lazy without having stuff pile up :) being even more busy doesn't help with that too much.

hope you are resting up and getting excited for this weekend! glad time flew by so you didn't have to sit and think and start worrying about the race :)
