psst

it's past midnight, which means that its May first, which means that I'm running a marathon THIS month!! (will try to anyway... going to see one of my sports doc's partners tomorrow...)

In other news, remember for my 30k how one girl really wanted to run with me the whole way, we discussed it, and ended up separating part way through, and each doing our own race? She emailed me tonight -- she registered for the marathon too! So, same arrangement, but the only commitment we've made to each other is that we'd find each other afterwards, which was a given anyway. I hope she's patient that day :)

Picked up my race kit already for Sporting Life 10k on Sunday, which I am NOT racing, light easy run just to test out the legs, finish the race so that I have another shirt to wear :). My game plan through to marathon day is that less is more. A few light easy runs, otherwise, some biking and plenty of resting. Thanks for all the kind words and advice to yesterday's post. This taper madness is unfamiliar ground, and a pretty interesting mindset.  Trying to soak it all in.

Gotta love the race shirts! I hope your sports doc visit goes well tomorrow!

It's still April here but I'll wake up with the same realization tomorrow: I am doing a marathon this month... er, hopefully.

Have fun at the 10K on Sunday! :D

Race kits are the best! The best part of the Sporting Life 10k is that it's all downhill!
Have a great run.

Sounds smart. I'm still deciding whether or not to do my 20 miler this weekend or next weekend...either way taper madness is on it's way whether it's going to be 2 weeks or 3 weeks I still have to see!

Enjoy the taper, people freak out about it, think they'll forget how to run that far. YOU are golden girlie. Just do short stuff, even some short speedy stuff but nothing crazy long. It's all good! Stay healthy, the key.

We're going to pick up our kits at lunch - what do you think of the new yellow shirts?? Are they that bright in person? (I guess I'll find out soon...)

Glad to hear you were able to make a sports doc appointment - good luck!

Smart plan and good idea to make it clear on doing your own thing at the race. Joining up and sharing your stories is a blast. I share the same plan with each event with my riding friend. Has worked perfectly so far :)))

You can call this Marathon Month..... yipppeeee!!!!

That's great that you'll have a partner for the marathon. It will help a lot. Are you running with a pace group? I did that for my first and thought it was a huge help.
