Wright Sock Giveaway review

I broke a "running rule" for yesterday's race; isn't one of the cardinal rules of a race to never try anything new?

Well, I did, and wasn't disappointed, but doubted that I would be.

When I started running in May 2007, I new two things.  I probably needed good shoes, and some decent socks... especially since I get blisters easily. So I had gone to a local running store, and paid more for a pair of socks than I ever thought I would. But their promise was a blister-free guarantee.  I quickly learned that they were definitely worth the price and delivered on their promise!

Having bought two pair, they are my favorites... when both are dirty I pray to the blister gods, and use Body Glide.

When I found out that I was picked for the Free Stuff Giveaway on Runners' Lounge, I was stoked!  Another pair of my favorite socks, but when I checked the mail last week, I not only got one pair, but two!

Taken directly from their website:
WRIGHTSOCK TM Double Layer delivers the no blister promise through a three-part system:

1. Moisture Management : Dri-WRIGHTTM inner layer wicks moisture off the skin better than any other fabric. The Result... your feet stay dry.

2. Temperature Regulation: Staying dry means staying cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The Result... your feet are more comfortable.

3. Friction Reduction : Interaction between the inner and outer sock layers absorbs friction that is normally transferred to the skin. The Result... skin shear is eliminated.

Not sure why I didn't look for my previously worn pair for the race; tried and tested... guess I already knew I'd have no problems wearing a brand new pair, and my feet are great today!  So thank you to Wright Socks for this giveaway and adding to my slightly worn out collection, and to Tom and Amy of Runners' Lounge! :)

They look like nice socks! I wear whatever "wick moisture away" socks I can find for a good price. I find that the socks combined with using Vaseline on my toes and feet works well.

I love these socks! I've worn them for a marathon and a bunch of shorter length races and gotten no blisters from them. Reminds me that I need to go pick up a new pair...

Congrats on winning the socks! I had tried to win them, too. I am a sock whore so I LOVE to read about socks... especially good socks.

I'm glad they worked out well for you and that they delivered on their promises. Thanks for the review!

Nothing like a great pair of running socks. Socks can make or break a run!

i just won some "official"/technical socks too but haven't tried them out yet. i've had a few blister problems but i always assume they are from my shoes or something else. you (and other folks) make "real" running socks sound amazing. i don't get it now, but hopefully when i finally try my socks out i'll get it! :)
