... after 6 weeks and 3 days of no running, you finally get the go ahead to run... 2 days ago, yet you haven't found the time to lace up the shoes! Yes, I've been that busy!
I will be hitting the treadmill hopefully today for some walk/run intervals to test out the leg, and lane swimming tonight.
Don't worry; I will be careful, I will go slow, I will listen to my body, and I will stop if I have any pain. I promise. I am totally over running only, I know my body can't handle it, and have been loving the variety of the workouts! I need the cross-training, and less running days/week, so I think this triathlon training will help in keeping injuries under control... I hope.

sweet! way to go mel! your patience is finally going to be rewarded. enjoy it.
yay for getting the go ahead to test out the treadmill! good luck on the first run back! glad to hear you are loving the tri workouts.
You're a pro now at this stuff - you'll take it slow, I'm sure. Good luck with the treadmill encounter. I can't wait to have this baby so I can get back into some sort of training too. Maybe a sprint-tri would be a good way to lose baby weight!
Good news Mel!! Can't wait to hear how it went.
oh the horror you have the ok to run and haven't ...AHHHH I don't have the ok and I"m a tool for trying :)
excellent!!! run-walk intervals come highly recommended!!!!!! keeps it interesting and also good way to ease into running more! :) run-walk it out :)
congrats on the good news! good luck with getting back into the groove.....I'm about ready to shove this boot....now everything on the opposite side of my body hurts from over-compensating! Ugh!
plus it's fun (the tri training). :-)
YEAH!! You got the go-ahead!! That's so great! Run/walk intervals are great - they allow you to go so much longer and farther. Good luck with the treadmill test!
Great news! Good luck with the run. It must be sort of a nice feeling knowing that there's less pressure - it's only a third of the battle now. :)
Good luck with the treadmill run. Sounds like you have everythign under control.
Thinking of you and your family.
Hmmmm, triathlon training - less injuries. Something to think about.
Sorry about your uncle, the Big C does suck balls!
I like the one piece - helps with the mid region and if the butt is black, even better. You'll look great in it. That's the thing, if YOU'RE comfortable with it, everyone else will be.
Yay for the run, get it on!
Awesome.. glad you got the go-ahead!
Yay for the green light! Good luck on your treadmill test today and remember to take it easy.
Awesome Mel - I am so excited for you being able to incorporate running back into your wonderful workout mix!!! WOOT!!!
Sorry about your uncle!!!
It's been 6 weeks?!?!? I hope that went as fast for you as it did for me!
YAY for running again!!! Sunday was my 6 week mark as far as my stress fracture...but I still have 3 weeks to go with my surgery recovery. And now it's so dang hot and I missed out on the nice spring weather. Oh well, those are the breaks. Literally - LOL. I plan to start hitting the pool again next week. Man, I so wish we lived near each other so we could tri train together! Def keep me updated on how your training is going so I can live vicariously through you! :)
On another note, I'm thinking of you and your family right now. You know my email addy if you ever need to talk. HUGS!!
Sounds like you're feeling better!
Enjoy your first run back ... and thanks for your email.
Enjoy your first run! Yeah!!
Go gentle, be gentle!
Yay! I read on Twitter that you ran! YOU RAN! Awesome...I'm so happy for you!
As you know, running sometimes has to take 2nd billing to more important things in life. Glad to see your tri training is progressing well. I'm looking forward to your first run in a while report.
yay! glad you have official 'clearance' to run! also glad to hear you are enjoying the life of a triathlete. much more admirable than just-running in my opinion :) i think partly b/c i know i'd drown in the swim! lol.
hope the first run back went well, and here's to many many more miles on your feet, with wheels, and in the water!
