For runners, it all starts with our feet hitting the ground first (with any luck) and everything else follows. By blogging about your adventures, it's like you're sharing your path with us, we follow your footprints. If you've been reading running/tri/cycling blogs for awhile now, surely you've been inspired and/or motivated by various posts and bloggers. Perhaps someone opened your eyes to something new, or gave you something to think about.
Has someone left their footprint with you, their mark, something powerful that you'll always remember or cherish?
I'd love to hear about those moments... comments, stories, posts or bloggers that have left an impression on you. In future posts, I'll try to share some of the stories with everyone, because there always comes a time when we need to be inspired.
Thought I'd share my footprint with you... I took this picture while on vacation last year... it reminds me of one of those mind-trick pictures. Notice that it looks like my foot is raised? Coming up out of the sand? I only saw it when I uploaded the picture to the computer. Weird eh?
If you want to participate in Nikemom's Foto Friday, head on over to her blog so she can link you up! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

it does look raised!!! that is your foot? great picture :) love the signature on it. great post. one of my biggest inspirations is elliot's mom..... she's 61 and running every day..
That is an awesome photo of your foot! I love it Mel!
Your so inspiring to me!
Interesting that it does look like it's raised up instead of pushed down!
The only foot print I've ever taken was that of a grizzly bear. It did leave quite an impression on me, though (get the hell out of there! :-)
for me, it's steve in a speedo. seeing him do crazy shit like running in costumes gives me a whole new perspective on the sport. plus he's fast.
there's always a bigger fish out there. i like so hang with the bigger fish, and i realize that other people consider me the bigger fish sometimes. so i like having other people hang with me just as much as i like hanging with people that are faster than i am. everyone has something to shoot for. That also means that there are people out there who wish they could keep up with you mel! have a great weekend.
i am always impressed, motivated and inspired just by reading about other runners/triathletes and their training/racing! we all face a number of challenges and it's inspiring to see so many people working through their battles.
happy friday!
Girl, I got footprints all over me ;)
Snippets from everyone's blog comes into mind all the time. Weird, I know, but I can't help it.
I tried the whole sighting on the swim thing - never even heard of it until you mentioned it the other day!
There isn't one particular blog or blogger story that comes to mind for me, but it's an accumulation of all of the. We have our own challenges and victories along the way, no matter what our abilities are. I am equally inspired by the newbie as I am the seasoned athlete. :)
I know you were looking for one particular story but, honestly, there are many.
Once, I was walking through a dangerous neighborhood here in Joisey and I was reading tfh's blog on my iPhone and just then a shot ran out: BANG!1!
And I noticed the bullet had hit my iPhone; but the iPhone itself was iFine.
tfh's blog though? It died that day.
And that's how it happened and that's why her blog's no longer on the web - Training For A Half died that I might live.
(More than that stupid bible in my breast pocket did for me!)
So I guess I am the reason tfh isn't around anymore.
I'm sure she's fine.
But her blog died instantly that day.
Great picture!! That deserves a frame.
Cool photo! It DOES look raised! I love the footprint analogy - so true.
Many bloggers have left their "footprints" with me in one way or another. I'll have to do some thinking to narrow it down. :)
That is a cool picture! Great post, too.
Cool picture!
So many little tidbits from so many great blogs to even start listing them all!!! I have been inspired by everyone I've come to know via blog land!
oh gosh I'm so tired from this week I'm not sure I can think of a really good moment...how about the fact that I hurt like hell in SD but knew I was going to finish because I didn't want to blog about not finishing!
That is a cool footprint pic.
Leave it to G to cry about the death of teh Marcy...at least, I think that's what he's talking about. Maybe he's had a few beers here? Mmmm.
I'm forever a sucker for a good tri or ironman story, just can't help myself.
That a super cool picture. Hopefully you have it framed some place where you can look at it every day.

I have three blogs that I follow that really resonate with me, all on blogspot (sorry for anyone I left out!!)
Meltriestorun reminds me of how exciting it was to start running.
dcrainmaker inspires me to find innovative ways to cram my training in my everyday schedule. If Ray can make it happen while jet setting across the world, I can find the time to train as well.
marleneontherun inspires me to not give up. Maybe because I was crushed at stwm 2008 at the same time she ran it but I feel connected to her somehow and I want her to succeed so I can share in her redemption.
Of course Mel, your blog is also inspiring for me. To go through what you have been and keep coming back shows tremendous force of character!
SUCH a great post!!!
Thats an awesome photo. Thanks for sharing!
