Remind me...

Remind me that I'm recovering from injury.

Remind me not to apologize for what I might consider insignificant... thanks Glaven.

Remind me that I'm putting my body through more of a physical challenge than ever before.

Remind me that my mind is also along for the ride.

Remind me that there was an 'old me' that wouldn't have the courage to try any of what I'm doing.

Remind me that things have a way of coming together.

Remind me not to expect things to be easy.

Remind me that speed isn't the only determining factor of greatness; effort, perseverance, determination all count for something.

Remind me that pushing my limits is good... but they are my limits. If everyone had equal abilities, the world would be a boring place.

Remind me that the cross-training is better for my body and great for my mind.

Remind me that there are days we feel powerful, others powerless.

Remind me that goals are individual.

Remind me that the whole world isn't watching and judging.

Remind me that we all start somewhere.

Remind me that the life I now life is a bonus.

So true and such a great post. My favourite is this point:

"Remind me that speed isn't the only determining factor of greatness; effort, perseverance, determination all count for something"

I often get too caught with speed as a measure of worth!

Good job on your duo workout today!

"The life I live now is a bonus". Every day is a miracle. I feel the exact same way. I'm lucky to be alive and I'm happy I am!! ;)

Sounds to me that you really don't need any "reminds".........you got this down pact!!!
Life is good!

Lovely post indeed. And yes Mel, you are still recovering from injury --take more than 2 days rest a week. :)

What a great post. Remind yourself, as well, about how incredibly brave and honest and inspiring you are others xx

Xtraining is better for the body and mind! There, you're reminded;)

Don't be so hard on yourself all the time. When doing 'all of this' just remember that normal people don't do 'all of this' - they're lucky to workout 3x/week for 30 min. You're pushing pretty dang hard.

Those of us who are watching are really impressed at what you can do and really proud of you for doing it.

Running a 10 minute mile is just as far as a 6 minute mile.

I need reminded of most of those things too. Well said.

Excellent post and great reminders.

I love all the life lessons we learn through our sport(s).

Also love what EndorphinBuzz said above - a 10 minute mile is just as far as a 6 minute mile. So true!

"Remind me not to expect things to be easy." If it were easy everyone would do it....but isn't that the fun of it all? Doing something that most people don't even dare to try. No it won't be easy! But it will get easier and in the process you will have accomplished more than your current or past self ever dreamed of.. REMEMBER THAT!!

I'll do my best...and I'll also try to remind you that you are awesome! Because you are! All you've done, all you are doing. It is just great!!!

You should post that on your fridge, what a great post!

Awesome list of reminders! Sometimes I can feel so inadequate reading the tales of pro athletes and many others who are so much more talented than I am in sports. Then there are many family and friends I know who don't do any regular exercise at all who think I'm like some freak to spend so much time and energy sweating.

It's good to remind yourself of who you are and why you are doing this. In the end, that's all that matters.

Excellent post Mel! I'm here to remind you that we are all here inspired by your determination and cheering you on all the way!

The best thing about pushing yourself to the limit is that it's a moving target and will always surprise you. Oh, the whole world is watching and the whole world is proud of you (and a little jealous too).

All the best!

Nice post, sistre.

But I'll remind you that what I said was more than "don't apologize for what you might consider insignificant." What I said was Don't Apolgize for your accomplishments - Celebrate them!

For you have many of them!

You have just listed the reasons why I named my blog "Running My Own Race". You are on your own special journey in your own special body. Try to enjoy the ride. You are doing so well... try to look at things in the long term and continue on your own path. I'm rooting for you!

well it doesn't really sound like you need a reminder, but here goes...

you are recovering from an injury
you are trying a lot of new stuff

ok nm :) seriously I don't want anyone to remind me I just want it to be easy again

Nice post Mel! It's good to remember and write it all down sometimes :)
