A conversation taken from the airing of The Biggest Loser last night...
Dane: Every week at the ranch we had the weigh in, and that was the reason that we had to train, and then, what we’ve been doing lately is finding other reasons, you know triathlons and other things like that, so I actually have a triathlon in the morning in San Francisco that I’m getting ready for.Alison: Just you, or some other old faces?Dane: A total of 12 former contestants of the showBob: It’s the best feeling in the world to know that i had a part in that, I had a part in these 12 people that were morbidly obese, now all of a sudden they’re doing a triathlon. Have you ever done a triathlon? I haven’t?!
Proud that i can say, "Yes Bob, both my son and I have!" :)

I like that show. And it was awhile ago, but I have too Mel, I have too!
:)
Love the Biggest Loser.
:)
Love the Biggest Loser.
awesome, I am actually watching this on TiVo right now.
BTW, I am a big race planner, and I am working on '10 right now. It just seems that tris sell out pretty quickly!
Yes, you have!! I bet it felt awesome to be able to "tell" Bob that! :)
It starts with the TV. Soon, it's the dog. Then your kitchen appliances.
Thye ALL start talking to you and telling you to do ... things.
Don't listen to them, sistre!
Especially not that lying f*cking Cuisinart Blendre! Because you CANNOT dispose of a body in a blendre! It does NOT have the same powre as a wood-chippre!1!
Well, maybe it could handle soft Canadian bodies.
But still, DON'T DO IT!1!!
YES, eat this BOB the trainer!
I HAVE BOB!!!!! But the way he said made me smile ear to ear.
Thumbs up! :)
i <3 biggest loser (but not so much crazy tracey - i have not forgotten her psychotic behavior a few episodes ago!) :)
I laughed when I heard it, too.
Me too!
I've never watched Biggest Loser but think it's cool that it's giving the sport more exposure to the masses.
I was watching Modern Family last night and she made a comment that she ran a half marathon last year. I thought...heh, so did I. AND I ran a marathon and an Ultra!!
You are simply amazing!!
bring me some more Biggest Loser. To have one day to workout on the ranch would be a dream.
yea i took particular pride in that one too. given the time of taping, i bet it was the alcatraz tri which is an oly distance (i think), and i've heard that's a tough one. still, awesome. just awesome.
You should be proud of yourself for being able to tell Bob that you have done a triathlon.
I heart Bob!
Hey Bob, I've done 2 triathlons! =)
Rock on!!!
It's definitely something to be hugely proud of!
I have to go against the crowd, I really used to like this show, but after seeing what they "attempt" to do with a kettlebell just makes me cringe. I've lost all respect for the "bubble-gum" trainers.
I remember when Dane "did" the marathon and then had to go on the Today show to explain how he didn't actually finish. Jillian was with him and said that she had never run more than 6 miles at a time. I couldn't believe it! Well, Jillian, you need to work just a little harder! :)
I've never watched the BL. Don't really know why, just haven't.
Boomer's asking about you. ;)
Nice! I've watched the 1st half of the show but I had to stop it. Glad to see that Dane is still chugging away!
well poop now I really need to do one
lol - last night when we watched this show (we're always a little behind) I actually YELLED "YES I HAVE" at the TV when he asked that. My husband just looked at me and shook his head. Luckily he's used to me shouting at the TV lol!
Oh - and I also agree with Dane - the Tris are what push me to lose weight when I'm struggling with motivation. Smaller=Faster and I have a hot burning desire to be faster
I like the idea of The Biggest Loser but the drama really gets to me and I really do not like kicking people off this show when, in some ways, their lives depend on being able to take control of their weight and health.
That being said, I really like the fact that these folks work really hard and most of them achieve some incredible things. Yes, they have lots of advantages that a person in normal circumstances does not have (trainer, controlled environment, huge variety of expensive equipment, no distractions from work or everyday life) but they do have to work.
I haven't done a triathlon but am in awe of all of you who have. You rock!
