Incredible!

Gone are the days of oversized comfy sweatpants, a head band and a cotton shirt for physical activity. Phew.

I've gone from hating anything to do with running, to forcing myself to try it for the sake of losing a few pounds, to... um, having a dedicated dresser in my closet my running/swimming/cycling/triathlon stuff! Yes, my clothing must resemble Stuart's nutrition stash! My name is Melanie and I'm addicted to cute, fun, running/bike jerseys/triathlon gear!

When I finally registered to do a triathlon, I contemplated what I'd wear. I went to a local running store, and bought a Sugoi one piece trisuit.

Towards the end of the triathlon season I picked up a pair of arm warmers for the chilly morning and evening rides, unknowing that they were also Sugoi. They came in very handy for the Nike Women's Half in October, wearing them before and during the first 6 miles of the race, by which point the hills had sufficiently warmed me up! Japanese meaning of Sugoi is incredible... they absolutely were.

I remember Lindsay posting about becoming a Brand Champion a few months ago, but what company wouldn't want a superstar like her representing them! Then Quadrathon (another awesome athlete!) recently posted about being accepted in the program... and also included the following from their website.

...is not always the people who are fastest in the competition, but it is the person who inspires other by chasing their own personal bests. Many SUGOI Brand Champions are podium finishers in major international events; many others are everyday athletes whose personal bests come in different forms other than winning. I love that! I've always maintained that I'm not the fastest, won't win a race, I'm simply enjoying my second chance at life and doing the best I can at it! If clothing can help me look the part, and maybe speedy, then all the better!

Also, you awesome bloggers have often commented that I inspire; I'm grateful for that... so it got me thinking. *insert cricket chirping sounds here*

Well, I did and I did! After thinking a little more about their company mission; which is to Fuel Personal Bests, then going through my dresser of clothing and realizing that I loved the products I already had, I did submit my application, and yesterday, did get my email yesterday confirming my acceptance as a Sugoi Brand Champion!

Now please excuse me now as i do a little online shopping to expand my wardrobe some more.... shhhh, don't tell Jay. ;)

BTW, sorry I've been a little MIA and sporadic in commenting lately. Work has been and will continue to be extremely busy until the new year... but I will do my best to keep up with everyone as best I can! Promise!
