Beautiful Blogger? Who me?!?

Thanks to Kerrie for passing along the a Beautiful Blogger award to moi!

Here's my list of 7 (hopefully) interesting things:

  1. I should have known life would throw me obstacles from birth! I was born by C-section... during which the doctors cut my forehead during the incision. So that first "supposed to be cute" baby picture? Bandage covering my fresh stitches. :(
  2. I was 26 when I saw the ocean for the first time!!
  3. Fully bilingual in french, and Terron is well on his way to the same! Most people are surprised at this despite the fact that I live in Canada.
  4. I wear my heart on my sleeve. You'd likely never need to question if I'm happy, sad, excited or whatever.
  5. My decision to have brain surgery took all of about 43 seconds when the doctor called to tell me he had an opening about 2 weeks out. An 80% chance of being seizure-free and about a 20% chance that I could wake up not remembering even my son. You can read the full story here if you want.) Odds seemed good, and I really had no quality of life anyway, so why not?! He asked more than a few times to make sure I didn't want to discuss with family first. Nope.
  6. I love my gadgets. If it wasn't for the Nike+ kit, I doubt that I would have gotten hooked to running since I HATED running as a child, which has obviously led to triathlon!
  7. I embarrass pretty easily. I hate being the center of attention, those moments when all eyes are on me.
So, now to tag 7 others, I've gotten some fairly new readers lately, so I'm going to pick on them so I can find out about about 'em! :)

Your c-section injury? That happened to my husband! He has a permanant scar on the side of his head, he tells everyone it's his alien portal.

I was gonna leave you a comment in French, but I can hardly remember any of it. :) Great list! You have a wonderful story!

I watched a c-section once for clinical and I could totally see how that could happen...so sad!

Wow with the C-section story! I was in the OR minutes away from having to go with a C-section, but last big ass push and out he came the natural way! But he had a big mark from the suction and the forceps!
Congrats on the award!!

I just read your story. Double Inspirational!! You certainly have come down a rocky road. You should be proud of all that you have overcome. And one more thing...your blog looks great!! I need to ask your advice someday.

Love the list! It's so funny because #7, man, you have to do a LOT to embarrass me. In fact, I can't remember the last time.

I hope we get to meet, someday and I can practice my HS French!

I remember that Runner's Lounge article! I think that was when I found your blog actually!!

Evidently the decision for surgery was the right one. And yes, I love my gadgets too!

i wish more people (including myself) could speak more than one language. it opens up the mind to other cultural possibilities. i've tried learning spanish, italian, and german without the environment to become fluent.

and you embarrass pretty easily? come on now. you know none of us bloggers every really do anything embarrassing. just enough for other people to laugh with us.

Neat factoids. Growing up in california, I can't imagine not seeing the ocean til 26! Heck, I'm only 27 so that would have been like last year.

Very cool that you are fluent in French, but you are Canadian! I can't believe the doctors cut your forehead, that is crazy.

You are awesome.

I was just reading your list and nodding at each one (except the brain surgery, I've never had that...but sooo glad you decided to go for it!!) cuz I'm so exactly the same and then wham, I see my name (making sure it's me this time. Too many Jill's on blog world got me confused last week. haha) so not sure what I'll write cuz you wrote my list for me :). But I'll think of some things for ya. Thanks!! (do I pick 7 things that are just little facts about me?)

Looking forward to hearing what you did Saturday.
