Great Minds Think Alike

"There is no comparison between that which is lost by not succeeding and that which is lost by not trying"  Francis Bacon.
This quote seems to perfectly sum up 2009 for me.  Wonder if there will be a single quote at the end of 2010!?
Happy New Year everyone!

  • Christmas came twice for me this year! Yesterday, I received my gift from CAUTION: Redhead Running for the blogger gift/card exchange that Morning Runner/Tall Mom hosted. I was happy to be matched up with Morgan because it led me to a brand new awesome blogger! Funny that we thought so much alike for the gift exchange, since I also ordered a necklace for her which reminded me of her blog!! :D  Injuries in 2009 led me to triathlon... so this awesome heart iTri locket necklace couldn't be a more perfect gift to remind me of the year that started this journey!!  Thanks again Morgan, I absolutely love it!!
  • Started off 2010 off on such a high note! A light snowfall started last night, enough to cover the ground. With the gym closed today, I had no choice but to do my run outdoors, so thankfully it was quite mild when I was ready to get my first run of the year done! Anyone else hate seeing zeros for year to date mileage?  Despite the sidewalks still being slightly snow covered, with puddles of slush and water, this ended up being my fastest and most enjoyable run since my injuries!  No better feeling than to start off the year like this! Here's to hoping that we can all continue doing what we love this year, and remain uninjured in the process!

Happy new year to you!

Yes, I definitely hate seeing 0's next to mileage hehe.

Here's to staying injury-free in 2010!!!

I loved the blogger xmas exchange too. It was great to get a little something and even better to get a new blog to read.

Funny, injury led me to a triathlon in 2009. I know I've read that a ton of times on your blog but all of the sudden it sunk in that I did the same thing.

Happy New Year Mel!

I love that quote at the beginning of your post! Glad I found you, it looks like we follow some of the same running blogs (I love Morgan's blog!).

Happy New Year to you and good luck with your 2010 goals! One of my goals this year is to also complete a tri, so I can't wait to follow you through your journey.

the necklace looks even cooler than how she explained it :) i love that it's a locket! very cute. i'm glad you like :)

i was thinking of you today. it is in the teens here and i think i'm going to die. i don't know how you deal with this! i can't make myself get out of bed in this weather. too cold. how do you manage to still be productive? apparently i just need to hibernate. it was 19*F today and i went to the food store in running tights, jeans, and three layers on top. i mean. how do people dress all cute in the winter? too cold!

ok, enough rant about the weather :) but seriously, don't know how you canadians handle it. kudos!
