Through the eyes of a child

I'm happy to have a few things that are not in common with Terron now.  In fact, I'm beaming from ear to ear. :)

So far our week has gone a little something like this. Saturday afternoon we arrived in Orlando after a 4:30am wake-up... we settled into our hotel room, and I even had enough energy to get my back/bicep/abs P90X workout in using my band I thankfully remembered to pack, and the pillar in my hotel room! This gets me bonus points, right??

Sunday morning we woke up early, the plan was to head over to Seaworld.

As I sat watching the shows, I really tried to experience it all as a child would, since I never did! Hearing the laughter and excitement of children all around me, fingers pointing to all kinds of things... I was taking it all in. I even indulged Terron by sitting in the front rows of all the shows... in the soak zone! Shamu decided to pay me a visit during his warm up? That's right, this is even before the show started!! Completely soaked by the end of the show with a white t-shirt on and fairly see-through pants; bad choices but fun times. :)  But have no fear, Terron got soaked too!

I also broke tradition.... since surgery, I've always just made the choice to not go on any roller coasters. Not because I've been told not to, not because I'm scared. But with missing part of my right temporal lobe, why take the chance of anything shifting! HAHA! Seemed important to Terron that I go on a ride with him, so I did. Wow, that was interesting, and 2 days later, I think everything is ok! Phew!!!

Back to the hotel after having dinner, I did the P90X Stretch video rather than Yoga. Part of me wanted to do nothing more than lay down on the bed and crash, the other part of me thought I might appreciate a bit of a stretch. Body won.

Monday we woke up early again, and headed out to Busch Gardens. I couldn't help but giggle when I saw these... anyone remember my flamingo post?! haha

Now, technically I don't think I missed my scheduled. Hear me out on this. I was supposed to do an easy 90 minute run... Heart rate zone 1 only. I practically wake up in HR zone 1.... in order for me stay in that zone, it needs to be a slow walk. So, after 7.5 hours in Busch Gardens, running on a treadmill for 90 minutes was NOT going to happen.  Another great day with lots of smiles and memories :)

Today, Terron saw the ocean for the first time, 13 years earlier than I did! I was so excited, proud and lucky to be able to share this experience with him, especially after all he's been through since September. We drove to Cocoa Beach today, and will head to the West side of Florida to check out Clearwater on Thursday, and Universal Studios tomorrow! I'm happy to report that the weather is much better now than what it was for the WDW Goofy Challenge weekend! Hope you're all having a great week! I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to being a grown-up yet! This being a kid thing is fun!!!

It looks you you guys are having so much fun! Good for you. It is nice to just be able to get away with your child - I did that this last summer and it was such an experience for the both of us.

P.S. the soaked pics gave me a good giggle. :0)

Sounds like you are having quite a bit of fun! Don't worry about training on vacation, being on your feet all day going from sight to sight is exercise enough.

I COMPLETELY remember acting out your flamingo post!

I'm impressed by your desire to do workouts and walk the parks. I'd consider the walking part enough, although you were smart to stretch.

Glad you're having fun! You both deserve it!

That is so AWESOME!! I was hoping to see flamingo's when I was down there 2008, but no dice. Keep enjoying everything to the fullest!!

Alisa said...

Wow, sounds like a lot of fun! You guys have been everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhh the beach, I want to be THERE.

ShirleyPerly said...

Glad you two are having a great time here in FL! Looks like you are making the rounds and hitting all the fun spots. And I think walking for hours in parks is MUCH TOUGHER than running for 90 min on a treadmill so I would say you did more than you were supposed to. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Great trip, I am happy you had wonderful time together. When I visited the USA I didn't try the roller coasters: too scary for my old heart!

I love the pics!

Have any future plans to try another roller coaster? Wow. I would have been scared, too, but WOOOOOHOOOO for you!
