A Diagnosis?

My 90(ish) day journey of P90X ends on Tuesday! Firstly, I cannot believe I stuck with it all the way through... and loved it! I will do a more proper recap post later this week.  Thinking ahead to what I'd do next, I had a few ideas, and was given a few suggestions.

I'm not one to search google for hours for every ache, pain, ailment to self-diagnose. Much. ;)

However, this diagnosis may have found me.
Clearly, I must be insane!!! I've purchased Beachbody's Insanity and am starting this week. Thursday! From what I gather when reading the inserts and watching the little video clips on the website.... it's like Plyometrics on speed! Like a Jack Russell off leash.

However, I'm not following the 'out of the box' program.. I might one day. I have grown to love the weights and strength training, and have some muscle tone I didn't have before starting P90X, which I love! Doug had suggested a hybrid program.. one that would combine the cardio workouts from Insanity while maintaining the weights from P90X.

Worked with my little cut-outs to see how it would fit with my triathlon training and I'm amped! I cannot wait!  By the way, you guys all made me giggle with your comments about my organization skills. That's not my permanent training schedule. It was simply a way for me to appease my visual learning senses, and allow me to manipulate and move things around. I then put it back into my spreadsheet once happy with it. Trust me, when needing to consider swimming for both Terron and I, running, cycling, Terron's karate, and P90X, those pieces were moved a few times :)

Here's my little disclaimer, like I did when starting P90X. My focus is on rebuilding and continuing my triathlon training, safely and carefully adding mileage, and preventing injuries. Everything else is bonus. I have increased endurance, better focus, more strength, yes, but if I time doesn't permit a workout, or if I need some additional rest, I will take it.  Ok? Ok.  While I put that disclaimer out there before... I only missed a total of 8 days of P90X during the last 3 months, while in Orlando with Terron, and St. Louis for work! -- MUCH better than I anticipated!

So there you have it! Insanity, here I come!! :)

OK...I'll admit, I have a set of P90X videos that Irene gave me and I think I'm going to start them over spring break...although they scare me to death, but you've completely inspired me!

I totally saw the infomercial on Insanity yesterday! My husband and I watched it for about 10 minutes before turning the channel...it just sucked us in! I am very curious as to what it's all about! I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on it.

Wow, has it been nearly 90 days already? I think you are the first person I "know" that has actually stuck with it and completed it. I look forward to hearing your review!

I have not heard of the Insanity DVD! I can't wait to read what you think about it. I am excited about your P90X review too. My husband started it a few times but always did it only a few days a week. I would be interested to see what your results are!

One of the girls in my training groups thinks Insanity is much better than p90x. You crushed P90x and I'm sure you will do the same to Insanity!

insanity is tough! i think you are taking the right approach to just add it in to the rotation instead of follow the plan it comes with. you are already doing a lot of workouts, including cardio obviously, and i think it will complement best as another cardio option. you're not a workout-newbie who needs to get in shape with just-cardio, you're already a pro :)

Wow I didn't know people actually finished P90X, I thought the people in the infomercial (which by the way, is my favorite infomercial next to the magic bullet) were all robots. I couldn't believe people did that crap. But thats awesome you did! And I have heard about this insanity, it sounds, well, I mean you can imagine. I hope you do it and kick its butt! Somebody should. I'm going to go eat a donut now.

You go girl! Good luck with the insanity!
