It's been quite the adventure though!!
Sunday: Masters swim, got to the pool with a bit of a headache, but after the warm up and starting the main set, I was seeing stars, dizzy, and heart rate really high. After a few minutes, coach ok'd me to continue the set, but another lap was enough for me to know that I wasn't feeling right, he told me to climb out of the pool. Pupils dilated, I sat in the lifeguard's office for about 20 minutes to make the world stop spinning before calling for a ride home as no one wanted me to drive the 1k home. While this felt nothing like the auras I used to get with my seizures, it still freaked me out.
Monday: Woke up feeling much better, but took a complete rest day.
Tuesday: Drove to a nearby lake, parked the car, and headed out for a ride. I had mapped out a fairly flat route, on what I thought would be less busy roads. Leave the parking lot, cross a busy street to start my ride... sign reading Pavement Ends Here. UGH. Decided to just ride wherever the roads took me... it ended up probably being one of the hilliest routes I could find. I did, however, witness someone that gives cyclists a bad name!!! On my way back to the car, I caught up to two girls, going rather slowly, but with a very narrow shoulder, and heavy traffic in the live lanes, I just stayed back instead of trying to pass. We approached an intersection with a red light, and for whatever reason, when the light turned green, the girl in front, suddenly darted left across all the lanes of traffic as they were rolling forward! Her friend, in front of me, yelled at "
Wednesday: 8k run from Terron's karate school while he was training. Some of the other parents had wondered where I was instead of having coffee with them! ;)
Thursday: I was on the fence about going to Masters last night. A little nervous after Sunday, and that phone call I had been waiting for? I didn't want to miss it. Well, I got the call about 30 minutes before I was set to leave, it left me in a good mood, so suddenly my fear of getting back into the water was forgotten! Coach wasn't there, but, had left the workout with one of the swimmers, Kim, that I'd only seen a handful of times since I started in Oct. Turns out.... she started swimming competitively at 9, was ranked 3rd in the world at some point, and has swum Lake Ontario twice, planning on a third time! I felt great in the water last night, and had a great workout! Running a marathon is a long way... but swimming a distance longer than a marathon! WOW!!!!
Riding tomorrow with last year's triathlon group! Can't wait to see some old friends! :) Happy Friday everyone!

Have fun this weekend Mel, and I loved your previous post "really think you don't".
good for you and as you said "if we lived closer we could do the long rides together", that has staid in my mind so don't count it out!!!
Maybe next year we could do Rideau Lakes together OR I'd come and Ride for Heart!!!
You're doing a great job fitting your training in around life. Keep up the good work!
You are a stud; I don't know how you fit it all in. Scary about being dizzy, but glad you got back in the water and all is well.
I LOVE IT...when people are smart and LISTEN to their bodies!! So often times we get caught up in having to check off everything on a schedule. :)))))
Smart girl!
Have a great weekend!!! You were a busy girl this week :)

Swimming Lake Ontario... incredible!
Great job on all of your training this week!
Glad the dizzy thing only happened once. Good job on the other workouts.
Sounds like that dizziness may have been just one of those things...so glad you've been feeling all better since. Plus, getting all those workouts in!! You are amazing :)
I hope you enjoy seeing your old friends again and that you have a great weekend.
Yay for ride buddies. Enjoy!
Yes this was a busy week indeed, for me as well. As much as I like busy weeks - since they make them go so much faster - I don't like the fact that I have a hard time getting everything I want done! LOL
Happy weekend!
Great week of workouts!!! Amazing you go girl :) Thanks for sharing :)
Wow, so - did you figure out what the deal was after you swam?
A busy week! Enjoy this week end. Anyway monday is my rest day too after the "great"(???) performance on the week end.
