Our moment.

Often, it's the little things that mean the most... Terron knows what can instantly move me to tears, and is finally starting to realize the things that he should never, ever say to any woman. Finally.

Sunday afternoon was the former. We were heading to the pool to get some laps done to prepare him for his up-coming triathlon on June 13th, the week before my Olympic distance Aqua/Bike.

Riding in the car, his hand reaches forward to lower the volume of the music, blaring from the song just played, that we both like and to which we were screaming at the top of our lungs singing.

"Mom, for this year's triathlon, I don't want you to be the one that takes the pictures. I want you to cross the finish line with me. And I'm not going to accept the 'mom' excuse that you gave me last year (said, as he rolled his eyes)... that it was my moment, and that you want me to enjoy it. I want it to be our moment." WOW.

Guess I'll be handing over the camera to someone else this year... and I look forward to 'our moment'. Lucky mom? Yes, I know so.

I actually thought about you last night when my 16 year old son treated us to dinner. Out of the blue. For no special reason.

Mel, enjoy it now since soon he will be so fast you won't be able to keep up with him. My daughter laughs at me at the starting line and waits for me at the finish. Oh well, it still is good!
